Public Awareness to Protect the Environment from Global Warming, Increasing Temperatures, and Drought

1. Introduction to Global Warming and Climate Change

Research has shown that global warming and drought are two major global environmental problems which result in changes in the annual average temperature or climate change. The main impact of global warming lies with the sea temperature being on the increase, while the increase in temperature on islands is a reliable indicator of climate change or global warming. Global warming refers to the increase of the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere of the earth causing general warming of the climate and raising the earth’s average annual temperature. These greenhouse gases include but are not limited to carbon dioxide, methane, air pollutants, nitrogen oxides, landfill gas or waste, and hydrochlorofluorocarbons. The main cause of global warming is deforestation, industrialization, and the practice of relying on the use of vehicles and machinery which emit air pollutants. Global warming creates a myriad of negative effects on various aspects of human life. The increasing of automobile combustion in Indonesia reached 79.85 million carbons. Environmental damage began to be seen from the high level of global warming. Global warming in Indonesia is caused by several factors, one of which is the increase in air temperatures or changes in climate, which ultimately causes water shortage or drought in various regions in Indonesia mainstream media activists. Public awareness and DNPI collaborate to campaign and disseminate information to the public about reducing green emissions. Climate change is largely a product of human activity – and it can be solved by action and the force of human will. The best available science tells us that warmer air and seas drive strong storms. Weather is becoming more extreme. The capacity of farmers to grow food is changing. Central to moving people to action is enhancing their realization of the need for solidarity. The problem is how to change public attitudes and increase public empathy.
